What is the point of your good deed then? That is a very selfish thing to do. You should not depend on validation from others. That you are doing something right. Unstick this idea from your mind. You should know it. If your mood and happiness are dependent on the acknowledgment of other’s, your contributions will never make you happy.
Dealing with Expectations on a Professional Level
Having expectations when it comes to professional settings is acceptable in situations when you are performing well and your superiors hold a similar view. You can’t just sit and expect to receive a big opportunity. If you have a good mind and you don’t do anything, you are wasting yourself. You have to start with something to eventually reach somewhere. You can’t expect to be put at a higher ground just because you have a good education, are knowledgeable, and intelligen. You have to start from zero and build yourself up from there. When you are working hard to build yourself up, that is when you should have expectations of getting recognized. Because you have your performance to back it up.
If you have a good mind and you don’t do anything, you are wasting yourself.
